Overview of the problem
Perhaps you’ve seen this mistake: “Walking down the street, the stroller lost a wheel.” This sentence implies that the stroller is walking down the street, which would be a very interesting sight, indeed. The problem is that the implied subject of the introductory phrase does not match the grammatical subject of the main sentence, the stroller. The writer knows what he/she means, but the reader may be confused. (Isn’t grammar fun?). Editing this sentence will help the reader understand what you are trying to say, which is the purpose of editing.

One of the best available techniques to advertise your online business is through article marketing. It works much better than placing classified or solo ads. When you place a solo ad, it will work for you only on the day that it is published. But your articles can benefit you for months or even years to come. And the best part, article marketing is free if you write them yourself.
Many people have trouble getting article directories to accept their work. There are many reasons for this. Most large directories receive hundreds or even thousands of submissions each week. They want quality articles, but unfortunately, they do not have the time to make corrections on the many articles that they receive.

What are the secrets of being a great MC?
Being asked to MC an event can happen anytime. At a social setting, at work or for more formal occasions.
Because of my business as a professional speaker, I’m often called on to be a professional MC.
Take for example my recent experiences hosting the Real Estate Institute of WA’s (REIWA) formal annual dinner, and the presentation of the Kevin Sullivan memorial Award, the Institute’s highest accolade.
A professional MC can make or break an event.
What do people remember?

‘Only the dreamer knows the true meaning of his dreams.’ Edgar Cayce
Some people believe dreams act as prophesies, whilst others believe they are trying to tell us something about our lives. Dreams have been said to reveal aspects of our past (often long forgotten) as well as matter lurking in our unconscious mind. In Ancient Greece, priests would analyse people’s dreams then provide them with remedies and advice.

If you’re squeamish about bugs, you may not want to read this one. I first researched this pest after finding one in my apartment. It scared the daylights out of me. The little bug crawled across my wall one night, wiggling it way back and forth, similar to what a fish looks like when it swims. It had about a million legs and long antennae.

Writing predictable charts in my classroom has made a significant impact to my ESL/Bilingual students.
Predictable charts use the language of the student as well as teach a new language. It enhances the child’s confidence and helps student develop an appreciation and understanding of reading and writing. Ideas for predictable charts come from events and activities that are happening in the classroom or their community.
Once a chart is written it can be used over and over again to reinforce previously taught concepts. The best part of a predictable chart is turning it into a class book
, a multilevel activity.

If you want to become an author, the first thing you’ll probably have to learn is how to publish your book
on your own. Remember that any kind of marketing will eventually boil down to one simple thing: creating and maintaining relationships. If you haven’t got the hang of this basic principle, then you will ultimately fail as a publisher. In fact, you will fail as a writer itself!

Often when we get blocked it is because we need to write on a particular subject or for a particular assignment, and we may be feeling stressed about doing a good job. Try writing about anything else continuously for ten minutes or longer. Write something you plan to throw away or delete. This will get you started at writing, and you can gradually begin writing about your intended subject or assignment.

Who is Jacob Abbott? I asked this question one day as I surveyed the latest public domain offerings at Project Gutenberg and found an interesting text by Mr. Abbott about Peter the Great. A Google search turned up a plethora of links and website answering this question for me.
Jacob Abbott was the eldest son in a large Christian family where all five sons (there were 2 daughters) graduated from Bowdoin College, studied theology at Andover and became teachers and ministers. All except the youngest became authors as well. Besides being an author, Mr. Abbott was also a college professor and tutor, a pastor, the principal of a young ladies school, and later, of a boy’s school over the course of a long and productive life.

In the movie City Slickers, Curly (played by Jack Palance) tells Mitch Robbins (played by Billy Crystal) that he has to find the “One” thing. The dialogue goes as follows:
Curly: One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and the rest don’t mean [nothin’].
Mitch: But, what is the “one thing?”
Curly: [smiles] That’s what *you* have to find out.
The “One” thing for a book
to sell well is that it must generate Word of Mouth. The goal of every tactic you employ to sell books is to create Word of Mouth. Why does every author want to get on Oprah? Because she’s the biggest Word of Mouth in the market. Look at the brief list below of tactics you can use to promote your book:
